JEE MAIN is the exam which is conducted for the admission in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Central Government/State Government Funded Institutions, and various Self Financed Deemed Universities/Universities/Other Institutions. Technical education departments of 9 states (Haryana, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Nagaland, Maharashtra, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh) accepts the JEE MAIN All India Rank (AIR) for the admission to engineering colleges of the respective state. More than 1.4 million students appeared in JEE Main-2016.
