 To crack any examination, it is necessary to understand the pattern of examination. This time IBPS has made changes in the examination pattern of IBPS PO Mains exam 2017. In this article, we are going to discuss the changes in detail so the candidates can start their preparation for the exam accordingly.

 IBPS PO Exam 2017: Preliminary Exam Pattern

The pattern of preliminary examination is same as it was last year. There will be 100 questions with composite time of 1 hour.

The examination will be consists of two parts- Objective Test (200 marks) and Descriptive Test (50 marks). Both type of test will be conducted online.

 IBPS PO Exam: Changes at Glance

1)      Now, there will be 155 questions in the IBPS PO Mains examination. Earlier total number of questions was 200 in the mains examination.

2)      This year, the duration of IBPS exam is increased from 140 minutes to 180 minutes. Hence difficulty level of questions will definitely go up.

3)      Computer Aptitude section has been added to the reasoning section. Earlier there was a separate section of Computer Knowledge. The candidates will get 60 minutes to solve the ‘Reasoning & Computer Aptitude ‘section. If the candidates complete a section before 60 minutes, they cannot switch to the next section.

4)      Now Quantitative Aptitude section has new name i.e. ‘Data Analysis & Interpretation’. It is expected that a major number of question will be asked from the topic DI (Data Interpretation).

5)      IBPS has introduces descriptive paper of English Language, following SBI PO exam pattern.  The paper consisting Letter writing and Essay. The paper aims to test the writing skill of the candidates. The descriptive paper will be of 50 marks with time duration of 30 minutes.

The above changes show that IBPS is now following the pattern of SBI PO exam. As IBPS PO exam is one of the most difficult banking recruitment exams, it is important for the candidates to start the preparations early.
