IBPS SO VII 2017-18: New Exam Pattern and Syllabus

One of the most sought banking examination IBPS SO exam 2018 notification has out. The exam provides a great opportunity to banking aspirants who want make their career in the specialized fields in banks.  This time IBPS has totally changed the examination pattern of SO exam. Now the exam will be held in two phases. IBPS introduced Prelims examination to shortlisted candidates for Mains.

IBPS SO VII Exam 2017-18: The changes that are going to make the difference

The structure of the Examinations which will be conducted online are as follows:

a. Preliminary Examination

It is clear from the above table that the subjects ‘Reasoning and General Awareness with Special Reference to Banking Industry’ will play a vital role to qualify preliminary examination for the post of Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari.

Note: Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

Highlights:

  • There is no sectional timing in prelims examination. Candidates are free to solve the paper as per their convenience.
  • Marks allotted for English Language: This year, you will have 50 questions in the English language section and the total marks allotted for this section is 25.

Syllabus for General Awareness / Financial Awareness/ Banking Awareness: This will cover static GK Questions, current affairs and banking awareness questions. The current affairs questions will cover the last 6 months events of both national and international importance. Static GK Questions will be from country and capital, country and currency, temples, airports, ports in India, tallest and biggest in India and the world, first in the world as well as in India, cabinet ministers of union government, state capitals etc. Financial Awareness section will cover banking in India, banking terminology, bank headquarters, slogans of banks, regulatory bodies in India etc. Some of the important topics for this section are-

• Current affairs related to national and international issues of last 6 months.
• Overview of Indian Financial System
• History of Indian banking system.
• Fiscal and Monetary policy
• Familiarity of work and responsibilities of National financial institutions like RBI, SEBI, IRDA, FSDC etc and of International organizations like IMF, World Bank, ADB, UNO, SWIFT etc.
