About UPSEE:

Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE) is a state level engineering entrance examination for degree level engineering institutions and other professional colleges. It is regulated by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) formerly known as Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU). Many prestigious government and private colleges are affiliated to this university. UPSEE engineering entrance exam paper is easier than JEE Main and Advanced. It provides good opportunity for those who cannot make to IITs or NITs.

Few sample questions from the sample paper are given below:

Q. According to Bohr's model, the minimum energy (in eV) required to remove an electron   from the ground state of doubly ionised Li atom (Z = 3) is

(a) 40.8

(b) 13.

(c) 122.4

(d) 1.51

Correct Option: (c)

The doubly ionised Li atom is H-like atom since two electron has been removed from outermost shell and only one electron is left.

The energy required to remove an electron from an atom is called ionisation energy.

For hydrogen like atoms,

Z = atomic mass

n = number of electron

The energy of an electron in ground state of doubly ionised Li atom is

Hence, the ionisation energy for an electron inground state of doubly ionised Li atom = 122.4 eV

Q87. If the ratio of the concentration of electrons to that of holes in a semiconductor is 7/5 and the ratio of currents is 7/5. Then, the ratio of their drift velocities is

(a) 4/7

(b) 4/5

(c) 5/8

(d) 5/4

Correct Option: (d)

The current flowing through a semiconductor is given as:

I = neAvd

I = current flowing

n = number of electrons

e = charge of an electron

A = cross sectional area of semiconductor

vd = drift velocity

Current flowing due to holes(Ih) =  enhAvh

Current flowing due to electrons = eneAve

Required ratio:

Q88. How many NAND gates are used in an OR gate?

(a) Two

(b) Three

(c) Four

(d) Five

Correct Option: (b)

Logic gate circuit of OR gate using NAND gate is shown below:

So, required number of NAND gates is 3.
