506 Students From Telangana Residential Schools Set An Example By Clearing JEE Main 2019

When you do your work with full dedication and a true spirit then nothing can stop you from achieving your goal. Students from Telangana Social and Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Societies have proved this by clearing the JEE Main 2019. 506 students from Telangana Residential Institutions cracked the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2019.

These exemplary performances have come from the students who actually hail from villages and tribal hamlets, whose parents work as labourers, vegetable sellers, masons, roadside tea sellers and clerks. “Never before in the histories of the both societies had witnessed such a large number of students coming out with flying colours in JEE (Main) exam and they all stand tall defying poverty and deprivation,” said RS Praveen Kumar, Secretary of the societies.

Of the 506 students, 307 are from social welfare residential institutions and 199 belong to the tribal welfare institutions. Run by the state government, these institutions are residential colleges providing education to underprivileged students hailing from the SC and ST communities.

Among these students, Rajnikesh Vardhan of Social Welfare IIT College, Gowlidoddi scored 98.41 percentile, Korra Mahesh of Tribal Welfare IIT Study centre, Rajendra Nagar bagged an all India rank of 410 in the scheduled tribe (ST) category with 95.3 percentile and Azmeera Mahesh of Rajendra Nagar college secured All India Rank of 486 in the ST category. The whole success of these students was attributed to the principals and teachers of the institutions.

‘Under the KG-PG mission, the government is providing free long-term coaching facilities to poor students on par with the corporate institutions, besides free nutritious food and coaching materials. The entire credit goes to the teachers and principals for their hard work and dedication,” said Mr Kumar.
