COMEDK UGET Counselling 2016: Understanding the COMEDK 2016 Counselling Procedure
The consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) declared the COMEDK UGET Result 2016 on 28th May 2016, paving the way ahead for the counselling process for seat allotment to concerned candidates. Being one of the most important engineering entrance exams in Karnataka, the COMEDK UGET 2016 Result has officially kick-started the admission season to the engineering colleges in the state of Karnataka. Soon after the formal declaration of COMEDK UGET Result, students were provided with their Rank Card on the basis of which the counselling process will begin. Students are advised to read on to gather all the important information about COMEDK UGET Counselling Process and familiarize themselves with different steps involved in it.
COMEDK Counselling Process for UGET 2016
Candidates who have qualified in the COMEDK UGET 2016 Results announced on 28th May will be soon called in for a counselling session for seat allotment to different engineering colleges. The COMEDK counselling process is held to help students get admission to different colleges / engineering institutes which are part of the COMEDK as per their preference for courses and colleges. Engineering aspirants, who have qualified in COMEDK entrance exam, will be issued COMEDK Counselling Call Letters through the official website. Candidates will be required to produce the counselling call letter as well as COMEDK Rank Card during the document verification stage.
Like last year, the COMEDK UGET 2016 Counselling process will be held in offline mode. The COMEDK Counselling will be held at a single centre i.e., “NMKRV College Mangala Mantapa”, 3rd Block, Jayanagar, (near South End Circle), Bangalore, 560011”.
The general follow of COMEDK Counselling Process is given below:
The first step in the COMEDK UGET 2016 Counselling process is document verification. Prior to the registration for COMEDK Counselling Process, students will have to get their academic, personal documents verified. To do so, they would need to produce the following documents in original as well as photocopies of them at the document verification counter:
Personal Identity document: Passport / Driving License / Voter ID any other govt ID Proof
- COMEDK UGET 2016 Admit Card (Test Admission Ticket)
- COMEDK UGET 2016 Rank Card (downloaded from official website)
- Date of Birth Proof: Class 10 Marksheet / School Leaving Certificate
- Board Exam Marksheet of Class XII or 2nd PUC
- A crossed Demand Draft (DD) of Rs 50,000 from a nationalized bank in favour of “COMEDK‟ payable at Bangalore
- Category Certificates (SC/ST/OBC/PwD, others – if applicable)
PS: The Demand Draft (DD) of Rs 50,000 will be adjusted against the annual fees of Rs 1,37,500 after confirmation of Admission. Candidates are requested to write their COMEDK UGET 2016 TAT Number along with Name and contact details on the back of demand draft.
Registration of Candidates
The second step of COMEDK Counselling process is the registration of candidates. In this process, the candidates have to register themselves for the counselling process. Following steps are part of the registration process for COMEDK UGET 2016 Counselling.

- Step3: Online Photo Capture and Verification
- Step 4: Issue of registration slip to candidates
Seat Selection Process
After the completion of registration process, candidates have to provide their choices for engineering course / branch they wish to pursue for undergraduate programme. Along with this, candidates will also have to specify the college / engineering institute they want to seek admission for this particular course. For the benefit of students, COMEDK would also make a dynamic screen available at the counselling centre that would display the college-wise and course-wise availability of seats.
On the basis of course and college preferences provided by the engineering aspirants and their COMEDK Rank, candidates will be allotted seats during the counselling process. For each COMEDK Counselling session, the merit list is prepared on the basis of vacancies available.
Payment of Fees and Collection of COMEDK UGET 2016 Seat Allotment letter
After the Seat is allotted to the candidates, they are required to pay the provisional admission fees of Rs 50,000 through a DD at the Bank counter available at the COMEDK Counselling centre. After the payment of fees, the candidates would be provided a payment receipt for the fees and COMEDK UGET 2016 Seat Allotment letter.
Reporting to College / Institute
The final stage of COMEDK Counselling Process involves completing the necessary admission formalities at the college in which the seat has been allotted. Candidates are required to report to the allotted institute and complete the admission formalities within stipulated time-frame, failing to do so will lead to cancellation of seat allotted to them.
