Delhi TET Eligibility Criteria: The Delhi government has recently declared to conduct the Delhi TET exam for teacher recruitment. The Delhi TET notification was tentatively released in January 2019. As per this notification, the Delhi TET exam is scheduled to be held in the month of March 2019. This exam is mandatory for all teaching candidates, who live in Delhi. A CTET qualified candidate can also apply for the teaching posts. But this exam is especially for the regional aspirants. However, this exam is qualifying in nature and it does not offer/promise any immediate or later employment in the state schools but it is a prerequisite for teaching posts. Delhi TET Exam Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the Delhi TET exam is similar to the other state-level TET exams including CTET, UPTET, HPTET, MPTET, HTET, PSTET, MTET and so on. The Delhi TET Exam is organized every year to appoint candidates on teaching posts for primary and upper primary classes. There will be two papers in the Delhi TET exam i.e. paper-1 and paper-2.

1. Minimum qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V (Paper-1)

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year or 4th year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

OR,

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)

Important Points:

  • Relaxation of up to 5% in the qualifying marks shall be allowed to reserved categories such as SC/ST/CI/Differently abled.
  • A Diploma/Degree course in teacher education approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) will be considered valid only.
