JEE Main 2019: Tips to score 90+ marks in Chemistry Section
Chemistry is one of the important subjects in JEE Main Examination 2019. There are three sections in Chemistry i.e., Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. Generally, theoretical questions are being asked from Chemistry. The numerical questions are asked only from Physical Chemistry. One cannot clear JEE Main 2019 on the basis of only one or two subjects. Students will have to concentrate on all subjects namely Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to score good marks in this upcoming exam. The difficulty level of the questions in Chemistry is easier than the other two subjects i.e., Physics and Mathematics. That’s why, Chemistry is the easiest part of the JEE Main Examination for many students.
The important tips to prepare Chemistry section are given below:
The first and the most important thing before starting the preparation for JEE Examination 2019 is to get to know the latest syllabus. If you don’t have the latest syllabus, then you cannot start your preparation.
2. Important Topics:
To know the important topics you need the correct analysis of the previous year paper same. Importance of a topic is decided on the basis of number of questions asked in previous year papers from that topic. More the number of questions asked from a topic more will be the importance of the topic. Some of the important topics are Mole Concept, Chemical Bonding, S-Block, Alkyl Halides, Alcohol & Ether (Reaction Mechanism) and Thermodynamics & Thermochemistry. Out of these topics more than 18 questions are generally asked in the examination.
As we all know it is better to read one good book five times than to read five books once. Students should follow NCERT books as the content given in the books is in very concise form. It will help them to score good marks in Board Examinations as well as JEE Examination 2019.
4. Chapter Notes:
The notes are very important as we can’t remember the compete syllabus in the examination. The notes should include important topics, Chemical reactions, Chemical formulae and previous year questions.
5. Improve your speed:
Remember all important formulae in Physical Chemistry which will help you to solve numerical problems in less time in JEE Main Examination 2019. Students should practice more and more numerical questions to increase their speed.
6. Don’t be overconfident:
For many students, Chemistry is the easiest part of the JEE Examination. Therefore, they did not give enough time to Chemistry subject. As a result, they score less marks in JEE Main Examination. They think that they can learn the complete subject within a month which is not possible.
7. Attempt Chemistry Section First:
You can pick the Chemistry section first in JEE Main Examination 2019. In this section as well as on the entire paper, if you find the question difficult to solve move on to the next question and come back to it later. If you continue to struggle with it you may lose time for other questions.
About the Exam:
Joint Engineering Examination (JEE) is a two phase examination i.e., JEE Main and JEE Advanced. From this year onwards, JEE Main will be conducted by the National Testing Agency in fully computer based mode. After successfully clearing JEE Main examination students appear for JEE Advanced examination which is conducted by one of the IITs. In JEE Main there are two papers i.e., Paper – 1 for B. Tech aspirants and Paper 2 for B. Arch aspirants. JEE Main Paper – 1 is of 3 hours having three subjects i.e., Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each subject has 30 questions in total.
