Clear the Basics
The whole syllabus of NEET is based on NCERT Books of 11 and 12th standard. The questions are asked from three subjects which are Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The basic concepts are the same in the 11th and 12th classes. So First of all, students must clear all the concepts of these subjects which are given in NCERT books. After that, they switch to advanced books. The style of paper is such that basics are from the NCERTs and but the design of the questions is advanced.
That is why NEET 2019 aspirants are required to have a basic understanding of concepts. It is recommended to have in-depth knowledge of topics because rote learning will not be helpful in the exam. NCERT textbooks of Class 11 and 12 will be your best friends to start your preparations at home. When covering a topic write the information you tend to forget in your notebook. It is suggested to make notes of important points as relying on just reading will not be sufficient. With this practice, aspirants can cover the whole syllabus starting from topics that they are comparatively easy for them and moving to the ones which seem challenging.
Get Your Formulas ready
An intricate part of the Physics exam is the formulas and thus, there is no escaping them. To get the answers, you are required to get your formulas right every time and know them like the back of their hand. So, the only way to do that is by learning them regularly and repetitively. Getting your formulas correct can be your No.1 secret weapon to excel in this subject.
Know your time
In NEET paper there are 180 minutes for you to answer 180 questions. It’s not like that 1 minute is available for each question as all the questions have varied levels of difficulty. Time management, is thus, of paramount importance to know how much time you’re spending on each question and how to manage 180 questions in 180 minutes. For that, a student must know about their weak and strong points. This will make things clear for them in the examination hall that how much time to be spent on each section.
Setting a practical time table
If you want to stay focused on your goals you have got to follow a fixed time table for your daily chores. There are situations where students have to complete the 2 year syllabus in a year or even less than that. Creating a practical time table will not only help you prepare effectively for your NEET 2019 but will also help you with your consistency. Studying for minimum 3 hours at a go, allocating time based on your strength and drawbacks are a few things to practice at home. Apart from it, students should forget to have some light time because it removes the pressure from the mind. Follow your time-table with utter faith but don’t hesitate to modify it as and when required.
A consistent practice of the whole syllabus on a daily basis is very important. You must practice regularly if you want to know where you’re exactly standing after preparing. Solving practice questions from all the chapters, marking the questions that are difficult and working on your weakness is how you should practice regularly.
As we all know the saying that practice makes a man perfect, the same is applicable in the case of NEET preparation. If you have to crack NEET for sure keep on attempting last ten years’ question papers for as many times as possible. Objective questions on the NEET papers are usually repeated after every two years so practicing the papers from previous years’ will make you familiar with those questions. By doing this, students learn how to allocate their time and finish the whole paper within the time allotted.
Taking full-length mock tests is very essential for candidates who want to know how to prepare for NEET at home. There is no one to supervise and aspirants should be their best judge in this process. NEET should not be the candidates’ first experience and the mock test will acquaint with the exam pressure. The candidates will get habitual of completing the exam in three hours time. It should be made sure by the aspirants that the level of the mock test is similar to the NEET question paper level. Candidates can practice the previous year question papers while preparing which will give insights about the repetitive questions and important topics. Don’t wait for your preparations to get completed to attempt a mock test. Analyze your performance after every mock test and work on your weak areas.
Since the syllabus of NEET 2019 is vast, revision is very crucial. Even if aspirants have acquired full knowledge about a particular topic, chapter, concept or subject, revision is must. Candidates can take 40-50 multiple choice questions from a particular topic or chapter and solve them taking 1 minute for each question. Aspirants can also go for comprehensive revision by taking up already covered topic. For this, NCERT textbooks of Class 11and 12, personal notes and modules will be beneficial.
