Many candidates are asking, "Is there sectional Cut-off in IBPS PO 2018?". The answer is yes; there is sectional as well as an overall cut-off to clear IBPS PO Prelims and Mains

Now, let’s learn about IBPS PO Cut-off 2018.

Cut-off of any competitive exam or bank recruitment exam depends on three main factors:

• Number of candidates appeared for the exam

• Number of vacancies

• The difficulty level of the exam

Let’s discuss these points one by one.

Number of candidates appeared for the exam:

As per media reports, around 10 lakh candidates applied for SBI PO recruitment, so, we can expect the same number for IBPS PO recruitment too. Last year, about 8.30 lakhs candidates appeared IBPS PO 2017 Recruitment exam. If this year, 10 lakh candidates appeared for IBPS PO Recruitment exam 2018-19 then this year a rise in the IBPS PO cut-off is expected.

Number of vacancies

In IBPS PO Recruitment 2017 (or IBPS PO/MT VII) there were 3562 vacancies but this year there are 4252 Vacancies. Clearly this year there are more vacancies as compared to last year. So, it may cause a little dip in the IBPS PO Cut-off 2018.

The difficulty level of the exam

Generally when difficulty level of the exam is too high then cut-off is likely to be low and when difficulty level of the exam is too low then the cut-off is likely to be high.

One can’t predict the difficulty level of the exam. IBPS often give surprises but if we have a look at ongoing recruitment exams IBPS RRB. AS compared to the previous year, no major change is observed this year. So, it is expected that the difficulty level of the exam will be more or less remain the same, as compared to the previous year.

Now if we consider all the factors given above then we can observe a slight variation in the IBPS PO Cut-off 2018.
