IIM Indore successfully completes PGP 2016-18 Placements; highest salary stood at 63.45 LPA
IIM Indore, with the largest batch strength among all IIMs, has recently concluded its placement drive wherein 624 students have been placed successfully with more than 200 national and international brands. The PGP graduates have again made the institute proud by grabbing a whooping salary package of Rs 63.45 LPA this year.
IIM Indore PGP 2016-18 Batch Profile
Among the 624 students who participated in the placement drive at the campus, 443 students belonged to the post-graduate programme (PGP). Management graduates from other programmes also participated in the placement drive. It was seen that 68 students actively participated from the PGP programme on Mumbai campus and additionally 113 students hailed from 5 year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) of IIM Indore.
PPOs increased to 40 per cent
In the current MBA placement drive, IIM Indore witnessed a startling rise in the PPOs being offered to the PGP Batch. Among the batch of 624 students, 147 candidates were offered PPOs during their excellent performance at work in the summer placement programmes. This marks a significant 40 per cent increase in the PPOs compared to last year.
Placement statistics at IIM Indore
The highest package for PGP batch 2016-18 remains 63.45 LPA which was offered by an international brand, whereas the domestic package stood at Rs 33.04 LPA. The placement statistics of IIM Indore says that the average salary of the candidates stood at Rs 18.17 LPA which shows a 12 per cent increase in the average salary compared to previous year.
Top destinations for finance recruitment
In the finance domain, key recruiters who made placement drive a congratulatory event were, Royal Bank of Scotland, Yes Bank, Indus Valley Partners, JPMorgan Chase, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Max Life Insurance, Nomura, HDFC Bank, HSBC, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Bank of America, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and Edelweiss among others. These brands continued their long term association with the institute. Finance domain saw 27 per cent of the participation from the overall batch. Students were offered front end roles on highly coveted profiles by these brands.
Sales and Marketing made the day
Sales & Marketing were another reason to cheer in the placement round. Firms such as Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, HUL, ITC, L’Oréal, Marico, Maruti Suzuki, Mother Dairy, Panasonic, PepsiCo, Pidilite, Asian Paints, Dabur, Godrej & Boyce, GroupM, GSK Pharma, Vodafone, TimesOOH, Tolaram Group, Toppr and Tata Steel had their hands on the talented pool of graduates from the top B-school if India i.e. IIM Indore.
Consulting Firms were a morale booster
With the extensive participation from the consulting sector, the placements of the PGP batch emerged out to be more rewarding. Eminent firms such as Cognizant Business Consulting, Deloitte USI, Ernst & Young, EXL Service, Infosys Management Consulting, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Accenture Strategy and Boston Consulting Group made offers to the IIM Indore graduates
Technology firms reaffirmed their faith
In the technology sector, the previous recruiters such as Capgemini, Cognizant, Google, HUL, Accenture, HCL, IBM, Infosys, UHG, Wipro, L&T infotech, MAQ Software were among others to hire the IIMs graduates. They reaffirmed their faith in the sanctity of the education and quality of the graduates produced by IIM Indore every year.
Sneak peek at other Recruiters
Other industry stalwarts such as Asian Paints, CP Group, Goldman Sachs, HUL, JPMorgan Chase, L’Oréal, Nomura and UAE Exchange showed eager interest in hiring the graduates from five-year Integrated Programme (IPM). Companies from General Management, Operations and HR domain also participated in the placement drive. Industry pioneers such as Aditya Birla Group, Airtel, GMR, JSW Group, Mahindra & Mahindra, Microland, PayTM, Reliance Industries, Cipla, IndiaMART, Larsen & Toubro also contributed positively to hire the candidates.
Domain-wise placement statistics
The overall placements for the year 2018 went well at IIM Indore. Finance domain emerged as the top choice of PGP 2016-18 batch followed by consulting and strategy & management domain. Human Resource and operations domain has seen the least number of candidates opting for recruitment. From the current year i.e. 2018, IIM Indore has commenced a separate programme that caters to the human resource specialization as a full-fledged course. This course will enable the students from HR domain get access to prestigious brands that offer lucrative profiles.
