IIM-Visakhapatnam signs MoU with EFLU at the EFL University

Indian Institute of Management-Visakhapatnam (IIM Vizag) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) at EFL University on 6th July 2019. The MoU was signed keeping in view the need of enhancing quality of education wherein the institute aims to attain standards of global excellence in common areas of research and teaching. This MoU is said to mutually benefit both the parties.

The MoU was signed by Prof. E. Suresh Kumar, Vice Chancellor, EFLU; and Prof. M. Chandrasekhar, Director, Indian Institute of Management, Vizag. Heads of both the institutions expressed mutual interest in this initiative as it aims to provide a promising academic growth for the students enrolling for the programmes run by the institutes. The MoU was signed in Hyderabad aimed at mutual capacity-building and skill development.

Objective of the MoU

The MoU will be focused on attaining standards of global excellence in common areas of research and teaching that interest both the parties. Prof Chandrasekhar (IIM-V) commented that "the MoU with EFLU is a step towards enhancing regional partnership in skill upgradation and development, which is a desired aspect in creating a progressive ecosystem for academic growth" He also highlighted the contribution of IIM-V in this initiative, mentioning that " IIM-V with its sizeable contribution in management studies will offer courses to the students of EFLU".

Adding to this, Prof Suresh considered this MoU as a collaborative sign towards mutual cooperation in capacity-building. Apart from these views, the Vice Chancellor of EFLU said that the MoU is a step forward to facilitate a mutually beneficial relationship for IIM-V and EFL to explore practical approaches in core disciplines and allied areas of knowledge.

How will MoU benefit the candidates?

The MoU will keep take of the following aspects:

1. The MoU will extend an opportunity to the EFL students pursuing foreign languages, to study short-term Management Courses of IIM-V.

2. It would also enable the EFL students get access to global placements

3. For the students at IIM-V, the MoU will enable them learn foreign languages such as Spanish, German, French etc. through EFL University
