IIT, Kanpur released JEE Advanced 2018 extended merit list on HRD ministry’s direction, check here

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur has released the result of JEE Advanced 2018 on June 10. This year a total of 155158 candidates have appeared for JEE Advanced on May 20. Out of these candidates only 18138 were able to qualify JEE Advanced. The success rate is about 11.6% which is very low as compared to previous years. Last year, 159540 candidates appeared for JEE Advanced 2017, out of these 50455 candidates successfully cleared the exam which was about 31.6%. This year, the success rate is even less than the half as compared to previous year.

The government of India also expressed the desire of increasing the number of candidates so that every category has at least twice the number of qualified candidates than the number of seats. An emergency meeting of Joint Admission Board held on June 14, 2018 to resolve this serious issue. All the concerned authorities have decided to lower the aggregate cutoff marks of the candidates in order to increase the number of qualified candidates. The Indian Institute of Technology has released the extended merit list of JEE (Advanced) 2018 qualified candidates on May 14. Students can check their name in the extended list of JEE Advanced 2018 qualified candidates at the official website i.e., jeeadv.ac.in.
