Gurkirat: I secured 570th rank in JEE Advanced-2014 and currently studying in Electrical branch of IIT – Kanpur.
Jagran Josh: What are your views on current paper pattern of JEE MAIN & Advanced-2014?
Gurkirat: Students whose study is precise and regular can easily crack IIT JEE exam.
Jagran Josh: What was your preparation strategy for Physics and which books did you refer for this subject?
Gurkirat: Try to clear my concepts. Reference books: D. C. Pandey and class Notes.
Jagran Josh: What was your preparation strategy for Chemistry and which books did you refer for this subject?
Gurkirat: Reference books for Organic Chemistry: NCERT & lass notes; Inorganic Chemistry: NCERT.
Jagran Josh: What was your preparation strategy for Mathematics and which books did you refer for this subject?
Gurkirat: Reference Books: Class Notes, Previous year questions.
Jagran Josh: Is coaching is necessary to crack JEE Advanced exam?
Gurkirat: Coaching is necessary for JEE Advanced.
Jagran Josh: Did you attend any 'mock tests'? Do you think they're necessary for the preparation of JEE MAINS & Advanced?
Gurkirat: Mock tests help you in understanding the exam environment.
Jagran Josh: What was your strategy in answering the questions in JEE MAIN?
Gurkirat: I have gone through the whole paper and after that tried to solve easy questions first and difficult ones later.
Jagran Josh: Did you follow any particular strategy in answering the questions in JEE Advanced-2014?
Gurkirat: I attempted all the questions very carefully and spend more time on the questions with negative marking.
Jagran Josh: Is there any specific observation or tips you want to give about JEE MAINS & JEE Advanced?
Gurkirat: Try to avoid distractions & silly mistakes.
