Joint CSIR UGC NET Syllabus for Physical Science

The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) and University Grants Commission (UGC) conduct the Joint CSIR UGC NET for appointment of Lecturers in colleges and universities and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in the faculty of Science. The test is held twice a year in the month of June and December in 6 subjects across various centres in the country.

While Paper A is common to all subjects and comprises of 20 questions on General Aptitude; Paper B and C consists of subject-related conventional MCQs wherein Paper C will have analytical questions of higher value that may test the candidate's knowledge and/or application of scientific concepts. For every wrong answer, 1/4 marks will be deducted. provides you the syllabus for Physical Science for the benefit of the aspirants preparing for CSIR UGC NET recruitment exams. Candidates can go through the syllabus and prepare better for this exam.

Note: From December 2012 onwards, a 6th paper in Engineering Sciences is included for engineering graduates to pursue PhD/ Lectureship.
