MICA Ahmedabad Final Placement Report 2017 – MICA Ahmedabad – one of the top B-schools of the country concluded the final MBA placements for the PGDM-C 2017 batch. The successful MBA placement season at MICA Ahmedabad ended with students receiving 160 offers from over 80 well known recruiters in different domains and industries.

One of the highlights of MICA Ahmedabad Placement Season 2017 was the significant growth witnessed by the highest package bagged by MICA students and the rise in the average salary offered. MICA Ahmedabad is one of the top B-schools of the country when it comes to media and advertising industry. Therefore, the placement data provided by the MBA college helps in understanding the hiring trends that the industry is going through. MICA MBA Placements 2017 – Statistical Highlights

Just all other top MBA colleges in India, MICA Ahmedabad also witnessed a good final placement season. The MBA Placement Report of the B-school registered positive growth number in almost every vertical. The average placement package for MICA students rose from Rs 11.60 lakh per annum in 2016 to Rs 12.65 lakh per annum in 2017. On similar lines, the highest package grabbed by MICA student this year almost doubled from Rs. 25.5 lakh in 2016 to Rs40.88 lakh this year. As per the report put out by MICA Ahmedabad, students received offers from a diverse array of domains and industries which covered a variety of roles. Some of the top roles that were bagged by MICA students in the final placement 2017 include Brand Manager, Campaign Manager, Digital Marketing Manager and Sales Manager to name a few. The detailed domain-wise breakup of the MICA Placement 2017 can be found below:


Being primarily a media centric B-school, it doesn’t come as a surprise that media industry would dominate the placement report for MICA Ahmedabad. Media sector was the highest with over 15 top media companies joining the placement drive at the B-school. Out of the 152 students, 30 bagged prestigious roles in media domain. Top brands which participated in MICA Summer Placements 2017 include Zee, Star, Sony Pictures and Shemaroo.

Internet & Technology

Internet & Technology domain also found its fair share of new-hires at MICA Ahmedabad’s Placement drive 2017. Around 29 students got placed in this sector in 11 companies. Top recruiters in Internet & Technology space included Google, Uber, Amazon and Voonik.

FMCG / Retail Sector

FMCG and Retail sector has been another strong hold when it comes to MICA final placements. Top brands such as Reckitt Benckiser, Raymond, Emami and Berger participated in the placement drive. In total, 21 students were recruited in FMCG or Retail Sector by 12 companies.

IIM Bangalore Placement Report 2017


After media, advertisement use to be second major focus for students as well as recruiters at MICA Ahmedabad. But this year this sector saw decline in the number of offers being made to MICA students during final placements 2017. A total of 15 students received offers in advertising domain from leading brands such as Omnicom MediaGroup, DDB Mudra Group and Saatchi & Saatchi.

BFSI / Analytics

Coming to the core business fields, BFSI domain also witnessed increased hiring during the MICA Final Placements 2017. Top companies from this industry like Axis Securities, Mu Sigma, Yes Bank and ShareKhan visited the campus to scout for management talent. A total of 16 students received job offers in this sector with an average salary of Rs 9.61 lakhs per annum. The highest package in this domain was of Rs 18 lakhs.

Apart from these core domains, there were many other recruiters from miscellaneous domains which participated in the MICA final placements 2017 and hired students. The miscellaneous group saw 38 students getting hired from 23 top companies such as Vedanta, IBM, ONGC, ITC Hotel and ONGC. The average placement package stood at Rs 12.16 lakh per annum and the highest package stood at Rs 24.30 lakhs per annum.

Looking at the above given analysis of MICA Ahmedabad’s Final Placement Report, a general positive hiring trend can be witnessed among the recruiter. The rise in the average salary as well as the growth registered in the highest placement package stand testimony to this fact. Recruiters have ditched the economic slowdown that plagued the placement sessions last year and have again started looking at top MBA colleges as the perfect breeding ground for future business leaders.
