SSC has started conducting the GD Constable 2018-19 Exam from 11th February, 2019 till 11th March, 2019. This year SSC has announced total 54953 vacancies for Constable (GD) Post in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA & SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles (AR). SSC will conduct examination for the recruitment to the posts of Constable (General Duty) in:

1. Border Security Force (BSF),

2. Central Industrial Security Force (CISF),

3. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF),

4. Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP),

5. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB),

6. National Investigation Agency (NIA) and

Note: The Commission earlier decided to postpone Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA & SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles (AR) Examination — 2018 which was scheduled to be held on 18.2.2019 and 19.2.2019 at Jammu, Srinagar and Samba in view of prevailing situation in these areas and imposition of curfew.

It is informed to candidates whose exam for Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA & SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination—2018 scheduled on 18.2.2019 and 19.2.2019 was postponed, that fresh Admit Cards have been uploaded on website www.sscnwr.org for downloading. Candidates may download their Admit Cards and appear in exam on new date/Shift at venue mentioned in Admit Card.

Highlights of SSC GD Constable 2018-19 Online Exam

  • The paper was conducted in Online Mode across different cities.

  • All the questions were compulsory and were in Objective Type MCQ Format.

  • Each question was of 1 mark.

  • The exam was conducted in English and Hindi only.

  • There is no negative marking.

  • SSC will decide the minimum qualifying marks of the online exam through normalization method.

  • It is compulsory to carry at least one original Photo ID such as Voter’s ID, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, ID Cards issued by Government or other Offices where the candidates may be working.

  • Candidates without such ID cards will not be allowed entry into the Examination Halls.

  • Candidates should bring latest two (2) passport size photographs for affixing it in the Commission’s copy of Admit Card in the presence of officials/ Invigilators at the time of Computer Based Examination, PST/ PET and DME/ RME, if required.

  • Candidates were given rough paper and pen by the examination center only.

  • Candidates were not allowed to leave the examination hall/room before the test was concluded.

Important Points to Remember after SSC GD Constable 2018-19 Online Exam

  • Phase-II: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST)

Based on the performance in CBE, candidates will be shortlisted for PET/ PST by the Commission. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) will be conducted at various centres finalized by the CAPFs. One cannot score well in this exam, if the candidate is not physically and medically fit.

Know the Detailed Exam Pattern of SSC GD Constable 2018 Exam

  • Phase-III: Detailed Medical Examination (DME)

Candidates will be shortlisted for Detailed Medical Examination (DME) from the pool of candidates who qualify PET/ PST. The purpose of medical examination is to ensure that medically fit candidates are accepted into the CAPFs.

  • Result: The result will be declared on 31st May 2019. Final result along with force allocation will be declared by the Commission based on the performance of candidates in the Computer Based Examination. Physical Standard Test, Physical Efficiency Test and Detailed Medical Examination will be of qualifying nature. Candidates can check the result from the direct link to official SSC CGL website as and when the results are announced.

  • Final Selection: The final selection will be based on the candidate’s performance in all the three phases of SSC GD Constable Exam, i.e., Computer Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) and Detailed Medical Examination (DME). Therefore, one cannot get selected for the post of GD constable in BSF, CISF, CRPF, ITBP, SSB, NIA and SSF or GD Rifleman in Assam Rifles, if the candidate is not physically and medically fit. So, it is advisable for the candidates to not only study hard for the exams but also keep themselves physically and mentally fit through physical exercises to clear the physical and medical tests.
