TERI to Organize Green Olympiad Examination 2017

The GREEN Olympiad is India's first annual examination on environmental issues for school students of class 4 to 10. The examination is designed innovatively to test the knowledge of students and also educate and sensitize them in the process towards environment. The Olympiad will be conducted in English and Hindi.

The Olympiad will be conducted in three levels on the theme of ‘Environment and Sustainable Development’:

• Level 1: Class 4- 5
• Level 2: Class 6- 8
• Level 3: Class 9- 10

Application submission closes on August 01, 2017. To check the eligibility and application procedures follow the proceedings:  

Eligibility Criteria:

School students from class 4 to 10 from any school of recognized board can apply for this Olympiad. Entries are to be submitted through school only.

Scholarship Reward:

• Certificates of participation/ merit/ distinction for students.
• Certificates for co- coordinating teachers.
• Awards/ prizes for country and state winners.
• Awards/ prizes for top performing schools.
• Special discounts on TERI publications.
• Special invitation for participation in TERI projects/ programmes.

How to Apply:

Applicants have to register themselves through their schools. Minimum 20 students should register from a school. Individual registrations are not accepted. Each participating student will have to pay INR 75 as registration fee to the school. The payment can be made through a Bank Draft drawn in favor of TERI, payable at New Delhi. Online mode of payment is also available. Cash or cheque will not be accepted.


GREEN Olympiad is an annual written examination on environment initiated by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in 1999. The exam is conducted by Environment Education & Awareness Area (EEA) of TERI and attracts participation from school students across India and abroad.
