UPSC Mains 2019 starts from 20 September: Important Topics of General Studies I Paper

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has already released the UPSC Mains Admit Card 2019 on the official website upsc.gov.in. Candidates appearing for the Civil Services (Main) Exam 2019 can download the Admit card till 29 September 2019. Over 12000 candidates are expected to appear for the Civil Services Mains 2019 examination. UPSC 2019 Mains General Studies-I (Paper-II) “Indian Heritage and Culture, History and Geography of the World and Society” will test candidates on their knowledge of History, Polity and Geography. As per the UPSC Exam Calendar, the General Studies-I (Paper-II) will be conducted on 21 September 2019 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. UPSC IAS Mains 2019 Exam Pattern
UPSC IAS Civil Services Mains examination includes Written Exam and Personality Test (Interview). The UPSC Mains written exam is divided into two categories – Qualifying Papers (Paper-A & Paper-B) and Papers Counted for Merit (Paper-I – Paper-VII). The Papers that are counted for merit are Essay, General Studies-I-IV, Optional Paper 1 and Optional Paper 2. Candidates’ final score in UPSC Mains exam is calculated from the papers counted for merit. Marks obtained by the candidates in the Qualifying Papers will not be counted for ranking.
