WBJEE 2019: Exam Pattern, Important Questions, Previous Years’ Solved Papers and Preparation Tips

After checking the official notification released by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board for WBJEE 2019, students have already started preparation to crack it with good score. Some students have started preparation after entering Class 12. According to the notification, the offline (or OMR based exam) will be conducted on May 26, 2019. Students willing to appear for WBJEE 2019, can submit online application before January 22. Here, we are proving compete study material including syllabus, chapter notes and previous years’ papers.

About the exam:

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is a state level common entrance test organized by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board for admission to the Undergraduate Level Engineering and Medical Courses through a common entrance test in the State of West Bengal.

WBJEE Syllabus 2019:

It is very important to know the latest syllabus in order to crack any exam. The students should know the updated syllabus before starting preparation for the examination. WBJEE Exam Pattern 2019:

After going through the latest syllabus, the next thing which comes in student’s mind is the exam pattern. The students should get familiar with the latest exam pattern before appearing for the exam. Exam pattern helps students to make effective strategies to attempt the exam. WBJEE 2019 will be conduct in offline mode (i.e., OMR based).  A.    Category 1

  • Only one option is correct out of the four given options.
  • For each correct response one mark is awarded, while 1/4 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • Marking more than one answer option in the OMR sheet will be treated as incorrect answer, which means 1/4 mark will be deducted.

B.     Category 2

  • Only one option is correct out of the four given options.
  • Two marks will be awarded for each correct answer, while 1/2 marks will be deducted for each incorrect response.
  • Marking more than one answer option in the OMR sheet will be treated as incorrect answer, which means 1/2 mark will be deducted.

C.    Category 3

  • One or more than one option is correct for each question.
  • Each question carries two marks.
  • Marking of correct options will lead to a maximum mark of two on pro rata basis.
  • There is no negative marking for incorrect answer.
  • For partially correct response, marks awarded will be = 2 (No. of correct options marked/Total no. of correct options)

The students can broadly divide the Chemistry subject into three parts i.e., Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Organic Chemistry.  The students who love to do calculation should go for Physical Chemistry first where they can do numerical problems, thereafter they can go for the remaining two parts. But students, who are not good in calculation, should go for Inorganic and Organic Chemistry. 30% of the total questions asked in WBJEE test are from Physical Chemistry, 25% are from Inorganic Chemistry and rest 45% are from Organic Chemistry.

The paper-1 of WBJEE 2019 is of Mathematics and students can score a maximum of 100 marks in this subject.
