Officials of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) announced that, it will award lower weightage to CAT 2016 scores for admission in PGP 2017 – 19.

Now Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) will award higher weightage of 60% to academic profile, work experience and gender diversity whereas only 40% weight will be given to CAT score. So from this session candidates having strong educational background will be on higher ground and IIMB also tries to promote gender equality through giving extra weight to women candidates.

In compare to IIM Bangalore other IIMs are giving higher weight to CAT score, thus it is a unique initiative of IIM Bangalore. IIM Ahmedabad giving 70% weight to CAT score, IIM Calcutta giving 56% weight to CAT score whereas IIM Lucknow is giving 60% weight to CAT score.

As per new weightage policy, IIM Bangalore will assign 20% weight to 10th class marks, 20% weight to 12th class marks, 20% weight to Bachelor’s degree marks, 8% weight to work experience and 2% weight to women candidates.
