Change in the UPSC ‘Main’ Plan of Examination 2013 : Corrigendum Dated 5 March 2013

The UPSC released the corrigendum, subsequent notification of Civil Services Notification 2013. The plan of main examination for the Civil Services Examination has been changed. For more information, read ahead.

The UPSC released the corrigendum, subsequent notification of Civil Services Notification 2013. The plan of main examination for the Civil Services Examination has been changed.

The changes in the main examination are as follows:

  1. English Comprehension and English Précis from Paper 1 have been removed.
  2. The Paper 1 of Essay has been regulated down from three hundred marks to a two hundred and fifty marks.
  3. There will be two qualifying papers each of three hundred marks, compulsory for all the candidates

    a) One of the Indian Language to be selected by the candidate from the Languages included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution.

    b) English

    4. The bar on Literature as an option in the main examination has now been removed.
