DU Admission Registration 2019 Updates: The Delhi University has extended the last date for the 2019 Admission Registration process to June 22, 2019 following on orders of the Delhi High Court. The registrations for admission to undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), M. Phil. and Ph.D. programme that commenced on May 30, 2019 are now open till June 22, 2019. The latest notification on the official website of DU says:

 

The University of Delhi has dedicated an online portal that will cater to the registration process for the undergraduate (UG) programmes. Candidates applying for both merit-based (based on the marks scored in class 12th exam) and entrance-test based (based on the marks scored in the entrance for the course applied in DU) UG courses are can start applying through DU 2019 admission portal.

The UG courses registration was followed by the registration for PG programmes that commenced from June 3, 2019. In the application form candidates need to enter the marks secured by them in the best four subjects and other information which has elaborated in this article. The candidates who qualify the cutoff rank mentioned in each list, must attend the document verification process which will be conducted in different colleges. DU Admission Registration 2019: Key Points to Remember

  • The marks of students from those educational boards that don’t have the system of 70% theory and 30% practical in their marks will be converted on proportional basis.
  • Mathematics is compulsory in 10+2 for admission to B.Com (hons), Mathematics (hons), Statistics (hons), Computer Science (hons), and Economics (hons).
  • If a student wants to pursue Honors program in a subject that he/she has not studied in Class12 then the student will face a 2.5% disadvantage in the best of four aggregate.
  • If one opts for a Modern Indian Language (Except Hindi) as a subject in BA (Prog) an advantage of up to 10% may be given in ‘Best Four’ in colleges where MIL is offered as a subject.
  • Applicants who want college hostel will have to apply to the particular college after they get admission.
  • This year, there is no offline form for the applicants, therefore it is important to understand the online registration process.

DU Admission Registration 2019: Step-by-step Process

Given below is a step by step guide to the Delhi University admission process that the DU aspirants can follow for the DU Admission process 2019.

 

Step 1: To Create a New Account

The first step of the DU Registration process is the online registration for which the applicant has to visit the official website i.e. du.ac.in. The UG Admission Portal of the University of Delhi is mobile/tab friendly. However, the webpage may appear different on different devices. The following instructions are for the webpage as it appears on a desktop/laptop.

Step 2: Login to the Account

As a first time user, applicant must go to the “DU admission portal" and then create the user account by clicking on the “UG ONLINE REGISTRATION IS OPEN NOW” link. Provide a valid email-id and a password to create new account. The applicant must also ensure that the email-id and password is kept handy for all the future correspondence/reference regarding admission process.

Step 3: Enter your Personal Information

After successful registration you'll be provided with your login credentials. Use your credentials to login to application portal. Then fill in personal Details in the DU Application Form. Given below is the list of the details that the candidates will be required to fill in the application form.  

  • Name of the Candidate – This field is automatically filled in as per the details submitted at the time of registration. 
  • Email ID – This field is also automatically filled in as per the details submitted at the time of registration.
  • Mobile Number – Though the candidates had to give their mobile number in the registration form, however, they can also update it if they wish to.
  • Gender – Choose your relevant gender
  • Date of Birth – You need to provide your DOB as it appears on the applicant’s class 10th certificate.
  • Aadhaar Card Number – Enter your aadhaar number, if it is available.
  • Category – Select your category from the drop-down menu
  • Mother‘s Name and Citizenship – This is a mandatory field to be filled by the candidate.
  • Address Details - Enter details for your permanent address and correspondence address. 

Step 4: Provide your Bank Details

In this section, the candidates need to provide their Bank details for the refund of fee in case of cancellation of admission. You shall have to enter your bank account number and IFSC and other important details.

Step 5: Enter your Academic Details

In this section candidates must enter all the relevant academic details such as the marks obtained in class 10th and class 12th for the undergraduate level courses. For the postgraduate level courses candidates will also be required to enter their marks obtained in the graduation degree.

Step 6: Merit-based Course Selection

 In this section, you will have to select any number of courses (where admission is based on merit) based on the eligibility criteria. In this section, the candidates need to select any number of courses (where admission is based on entrance) based on the fulfillment of the eligibility criteria.

Step 7: Selection of Sports / ECA Quota

  • Sports

In this section, if a candidate wants to be considered for admission through Sports Quota need to select “Yes” option.

  • ECA

If a candidate wishes to take admission through “ECA” quota, then select “Yes”.

Step 8: Uploading of Important Documents

DU online registration is incomplete if you don't upload the documents mentioned in the list. Without uploading the required documents, applicants won't be able to preview the application, pay fee or submit DU application form. Applicants should keep the important documents ready to upload on the website to ensure the hassle free registration.

Step 8: Pay the Application Fee

Given below is the application fee for undergraduate, postgraduate and M.Phil level courses. The application fee can be submitted in the online mode only. There is no provision for the fee to be submitted in the offline mode.

DU Admission Registration 2019 – Application Form FAQs

Question: I have registered online on the DU website do I still need to fill up the offline form?

Answer: This year there is no offline form for the DU registrations. You can only apply through the online portal i.e. ug.du.ac.in and follow the registration guidelines to fill the form.

Question:  Can I enroll myself for a certificate language course along with my regular graduation course?

Answer: You cannot take admission to two different courses simultaneously. It is advisable to refrain from this practice to avoid cancellation of admission from both the colleges.

Question:  Will there be any disadvantage for gap year students?

Answer: No, there is no disadvantage for the gap year students, you can apply for any course and college provided you meet the eligibility criteria and should also furnish the pre-requisite documents necessary for registration.

Question: How does one apply through the ECA or Sports quota?

Answer: You need to select the appropriate option in the centralised DU registration form to apply for the Sports or ECA quota. Also, you need to pay and additional fee of Rs. 100/- to register through this category.

Question: What shall I do in case my result is awaited? Can I still fill the Online Registration form?

Answer: Yes you can fill the online registration form, however, you need to choose 'Awaited' option in the drop-down menu of 'Result Status' on the DU Application form.
