The Andhra Pradesh High Court is was set up on 5 July 1954 under the Andhra State Act, 1953. Its seat is in the administrative capital, Hyderabad. It was formed by the merger of the Andhra area of the Madras Presidency governed by the British and the Telangana area of the former Indian state of Hyderabad. It invites applications from eligible candidates for filling up the post of Civil Judge for a period of one year on contract basis.

Civil Judge: 35 vacancies (28 vacancies through direct recruitment and 7 vacancies under recruitment by transfer)
Last Date for sending Application: 1 March 2012 up to 5 pm
Educational Qualification: Must have Bachelor's Degree in Law from any recognized University in India
Age Limit (as on 1 February 2012): Maximum 35 years (Direct Recruitment); Maximum 48 years (recruitment by transfer)
Application Fee: A crossed Demand Draft, for Rs 300 for General and OBC category candidate and Rs 100 for SC/ ST candidate, drawn in favour of the Registrar (Recruitment), High Court of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad payable at Hyderabad.
Selection Procedure: The selection procedure will be on the basis of screening test if the number of application exceeds 10 times the number of notified vacancies. This will be followed by merit evaluated by a written examination (80 marks), which shall be Objective type followed by an oral interview (20 marks).

The prescribed Form of Application, Hall Ticket in duplicate and the instructions can be downloaded from the High Court Website http://hc.ap.nic.in/ The application duly filled in along with the above enclosures and super scribed on the envelope as ‘Application for the post of Civil Judge, should be submitted in the offices of Principal District Judges of the concerned district (applicants residing in Hyderabad and Secunderabad can submit the application in the office of Chief Judge, City Civil Court, Hyderabad)
