Indian Bank was established on 15 August 1907 as part of the Swadeshi movement and is headquartered in Chennai. The bank has 1932 CBS branches along with 240 Overseas Correspondent banks in 70 countries. It invites application from eligible candidates for recruitment to the post of Probationary Officers.

Educational Qualification: A Graduate Degree from a UGC recognised/ AICTE accredited University/ Institution with minimum 55% aggregate marks/ equivalent CGPA.
IBPS Score Requirement: Candidates should have valid IBPS Score Card obtained in Common Written Examination (CWE) for Probationary Officers (POs)/ Management Trainees (MTs) 2011-12 The Total Weighted Score (TWS) required from General Category candidates is 141 and score for Reserved Category (SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD) candidates is 116.
Other Qualification: The candidates should have proficiency in appropriate computer skills/ working knowledge of application packages used in office automation/ computer environment.
Age Limit (as on 1 July 2011): Minimum 21 years, Maximum 30 years
Pay Scale: Rs 14500 - 600/7 - 18700 - 700/2 - 20100 -800/7 - 25700
Application Fee: Fee for General and OBC category candidates is Rs 200 and fee for SC/ ST/ PWD category candidates are Rs 50.
Applications have to be submitted by the eligible candidates only ‘ONLINE'. Any other means/ mode of application including those in printed form are not acceptable.
The challan for payment of fees will be made available at the Bank's website. Before depositing the fee Candidates have to take a print out of the challan (in duplicate) and the application fee must be remitted only in any of the branches of Indian Bank using this challan.
Selection Procedure: Selection for the post of Probationary Officer (PO) in Indian Bank will be made on the basis of performance in Common Written Examination (CWE) conducted by IBPS in September 2011/ November 2011.
Depending upon the number of vacancies, Indian Bank reserves the right to call only those candidates who have valid IBPS score in the stipulated common written examination (CWE) for Interview and/or Group Discussion.
How to Apply: Candidates need to apply online on the Indian bank's website http://www.indianbank.in/ After applying On-Line, take two (2) Print-Outs of the duly filled in Computerised System Generated Application Form. The Candidate is required to download a copy of the Application Form and keep ready with the one set of the prescribed documents to be brought along and submitted only when invited for the Personal Interview. Ensure to also bring along the Original Documents for verification when invited for the Personal Interview. The other Print-out is to be retained by the applicant for future reference.
