LIC ADO selection will be based on online test/ interview.

The selection of the Apprentice Development Officers (ADO) will be done in three phases:

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Mains Examination

Job Requirement & Responsibility of LIC ADO

The LIC Apprentice Development Officers (ADO) is sales supervision job. The ADOs are required to sponsor suitable candidates to be appointed as LIC Agents; then train them and help them to sell LIC policies to maximum number of people. The ADOs need to work in both Urban and Rural areas.

However, the ADO cannot be appointed as the LIC Probationary Development Officer.

Guarantee Bond

Selected candidates will be required to give an undertaking to serve the Corporation for a minimum period of four years from the date of joining (including apprenticeship period) before joining as the LIC Apprentice Development Officer, failing which his or her heirs, executors or administrators will be liable to pay liquidated damages of Rs 25,000.

Apprenticeship Period

The newly appointed Apprentice Development Officer needs to undergo theoretical and field sales training.

Probation

The ADO who successfully completes the apprenticeship is suitable for appointment to the service of the LIC as a Development Officer and may be placed on probation. The period of probation is of 1 year and can be extended up to two years.

LIC ADO Salary, Stipend & other benefits: What is the salary of LIC ADO?

During the apprenticeship period, the ADO will be paid a fixed amount as stipend per month as per rules of the LIC. Later on, the ADO will enjoy a pay equal to the minimum of the basic pay and the dearness allowance of the Development Officers.

At present the amount of stipend is around Rs 34,503 per month, except in case of LIC Employees candidates.

On appointment as a Probationary Development Officer, the basic pay of Rs 21,865 per month in the scale of 21865-1340(2)-24545-1580(2)-27705-1610(17)- 55075 will be payable. The total emoluments, inclusive of House Rent Allowance & City Compensatory Allowance will be approximately around Rs 37,345 in ‘A’ Class City.

Other benefits include Defined Contributory Pension Scheme, LTC, Gratuity, Medical Benefit, Group Insurance, Group Personal Accident Insurance, Vehicle Advance (2-wheeler/4-wheeler), Reimbursement against Brief Case or leather bag, mobile handset and attractive performance linked Incentives.
