Mizoram University invited application for 2 posts of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for DBT sponsored Major for a period of 4 years till 30 January 2013. Candidates who have Masters in Science degree in Forestry/ Botany/ Environmental Science/ Soil Science/ Biogeochemistry or related subjects and have working experience in soil/plants are encouraged to apply.

The research topic for JRF is titled as “Impact assessment of Jhuming on native plants and soil microbiota and restoration of sustainable jhum agro-ecosystem in Northeast India”. The appointment made for this project will be temporary and co-terminus with the project.

The selected candidates will be paid Rs 16000 along with 10% HRA for 2 years and Rs 18000 along with 10% HRA afterwards if they have a having NET/GATE/BET/BINC qualification. However, in the absence of NET/GATE qualification, it shall be Rs 12000/- + 10% HRA for the first two years and Rs. 14000/- +10% HRA afterwards.

The Mizoram University was established on 2 July 2001 as a Central University by Mizoram University Act 2000 of the Parliament of India. The university has embarked on various programmes for academic and administrative development.
