Ques: What mode of selection would be adopted for Recruitment of Specialist Cadre Officers in State Bank Group 2012?

Ans: The selection of candidates for Recruitment of Specialist Cadre Officers in State Bank Group 2012 will be done on the basis of either (i) Short-listing and Interviews OR (ii) Written Test and Interview.

Short-listing:

If the number of applications received for the post of Specialist Officers with State Bank of India is low, the Bank may consider selecting the candidates for Interview by short-listing.  The short-listing of candidate’s for Interview would be done on the basis of candidates’ age, educational qualification and experience.

Written Test:

If the number of applications received for the post of Specialist Officers with State Bank of India is considerable, the candidates, found eligible for the post, will have to appear for a written test, followed by an interview of those who qualify the written test.

The Written test will be held on-line. It will comprise of questions of English Language for 25 marks, questions on Reasoning for 50 marks, questions on General Awareness and Quantitative Aptitude (majorly bank Aptitude) for 50 marks and test of Professional Knowledge for 75 marks.

Except for the Professional Knowledge paper, other papers will be of qualifying in nature. Candidates will have to score minimum qualifying marks, as decided by the Bank, in these papers.

In the Professional Knowledge paper, candidate’s will have to score equal to or above the Cut-off marks, as decided by the Bank, to be eligible to appear for the Interview.

The question booklets for all the papers would be bilingual i.e. in Hindi & in English. Except in the test of English Language, candidates would be allowed to answer the questions in Hindi or in English.

Interview:

For final selection, candidates will have to secure equal to or more than the minimum qualifying marks (to be decided by the Bank) in the Interview. Candidates can opt for Hindi as medium of conversation during the Interview.

Merit List of those finally selected for the post of Specialist Officer will be prepared in descending order on the basis of the scores obtained by the candidates in Professional Knowledge test and Interview OR in Interview only, as the case may be.
