SNAP 2017 Exam Analysis - SNAP 2017 was conducted in the first ever computer-based format on December 17, 2017 for admission to 15 participating institutes of SNAP. The SNAP 2017 exam was conducted without any technical glitches- a relief for many. The SNAP 2017 Exam Analysis was conducted right after the exam was held. The Analysis of SNAP exam was conducted by various coaching institutes. According to the SNAP 2017 exam analysis, the overall exam was lengthy in nature and required more time. SNAP 2017 Exam Analysis

As per the SNAP exam analysis 2017, overall the difficulty level of the exam was difficult compared to previous year. The English section was dominated by vocabulary and RC passages. The passages were lengthy and required time to attempt them. The English and GK sections were on tougher side.

In all with 150 questions in hand, aspirants told that time frame was 120 minutes was inadequate the score high percentile.



SNAP 2017 Exam Analysis: Sectional

Let us take a look at the sectional analysis of the SNAP exam:

Current Affairs Section

Unlike the previous year, the Current Affairs Section in SNAP 2017 was difficult to crack. Out of total 30 questions only 2-3 questions were simple. Rest 12 questions were moderately tough and about 15-16 were tough. Questions were asked from topics such as international affairs, sports, static GK and famous personalities. If a candidate attempted about 10-11 questions with accuracy, they can expect a good score in exam.

Quantitative Ability Section

According to the SNAP 2017 Exam Analysis, out of the 40 questions in this section, 7 questions were on Data Interpretation and the remaining 33 were from core topics of Quantitative Ability. Test takers found this section easy to moderately difficult to crack. Only a few tricky questions jolted the minds of the test takers.

There were approximately 10 questions from topics of Arithmetic (such as Simple & Compound Interest, Percentages, Averages, Time, Speed & Distance etc.); 1 question from algebra; 2 from geometry and 4 from number system. Attempting 25-28 questions with accuracy in the exam will fetch a good percentile for SNAP aspirants.

How to prepare for SNAP Exam

Logical and Analytical Reasoning Section

Like the quant section, Logical and Analytical Reasoning Section also comprised of 40 questions. Out of these 40, 16 were set based questions and remaining 24 were from various topics such as Analogy, Complete the series, Number series arrangement, Coding Decoding, Family Relations, Direction test etc. As per the comments of the SNAP exam takers, 15 questions were easy to solve, whereas only 7-8 questions were tricky to tackle.

 Moving over to set based questions, they hailed from topics such as Puzzle involving time overlap, Inference from five graphs, Operations on number series and family tree. 12 out of 16 questions from this section were easy to solve. A decent overall attempt of 18-20 questions will help the aspirants score a winning percentile.

General English Section

This section saw too many questions from vocabulary and RCs. Out of 40 questions, 28 belonged to Verbal Ability and Verbal Reasoning (VA & VR) and rest 12 questions were Reading Comprehension (RC) based. Only a few grammar-based questions were difficult to solve. Questions were from topics such as Synonyms, Antonyms, One word fits multiple blanks, Analogies, Jumbled Paragraphs, Match grammar function and usage and more.

There were 2 Reading Comprehensions comprising of 1000 and 850 words each. The difficulty level of these questions was easy to medium. An overall attempt of 25-29 questions with complete accuracy will be rewarding for the SNAP exam takers.

Expected SNAP Cut-off

The Expected cut off for SIBM Pune can go upto 66-67 marks, while for SCMHRD it is expected to touch 58-59 this year. Take a look at the expected cut offs of top B-schools under SNAP test:
