What is SNAP?

Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) is a computer-based exam conducted by the Symbiosis International University. The SNAP score is your gateway to seek admission in 15 management institutes that are affiliated to the Symbiosis International University. This exam is one of the most sought after MBA entrance exams that will give you a bright opportunity to pursue MBA in niche specializations.

SNAP will give you a chance to joinMBA programmesoffered by the Symbiosis International University and all the affiliated B-schools. The courses include MBA, MBA (Innovation and Entrepreneurship), MBA (Business Analytics), MBA (Banking), MBA (Telecom Management), and MBA (Hospital & Healthcare Management) among other specializations.

Why to appear for SNAP?

SNAPis a must appear MBA entrance exam for management aspirants because of three unique features:

  • Only MCQ type questions:SNAP is entirely based on MCQs. This means that you will not have to answer any theoretical questions unlike the CAT and XAT exams. Simply choose the correct option among the four choices being provided and you can fetch a good SNAP score.
  • Uniform Marking Scheme: SNAP exam doesn’t follow differential marking scheme. For each correct answer you will be rewarded 1 mark and for each incorrect answer1/4th mark will be deducted.
  • Option to Choose Order of Sections: You can choose to answer or solve any question from any section within overall time limit allotted for the exam i.e. 120 minutes for 150 questions.

Who can appear for SNAP?

The popularity of SNAP can be attributed to the eligibility criteria that make this exam a worthwhile option for MBA aspirants.

An MBA aspirant who has completed graduation from a recognised university or institution can apply for the SNAP test.

For candidates belonging to the general category, minimum 50 percent aggregate marks in graduationis a pre-requisite to appear for SNAP. For SC, ST and PWD category students the minimum aggregate marks should be 45%.

Final year students, pursuing their Bachelor’s degree can also appear for SNAP.

What is the format of SNAP?

SNAP is a computerized exam that tests your aptitude in the time span of 120 minutes. The exam comprises of four key sections i.e.

  • General English
  • Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency
  • Current Affairs
  • Analytical & Logical Reasoning

In general in the English section you will see questions from topics such as Reading Comprehension, Verbal Reasoning, and Verbal Ability. Overall there will be 40 questions which have to be attempted in 40 minutes.

Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency section contains 40 questions for which 40 marks will be rewarded for choosing each correct option.

The third section comprises of questions fromCurrent Affairs, in which 30 questions will be asked from the exam-takers.

Analytical & Logical Reasoning is the fourth and final section of SNAP which also comprises 40 questions.

In all, you will be required to solve 150 questions in a time span of 120 minutes. So, if you are preparing for the upcoming SNAP test, then you must take a SNAP mock test to prepare well for the D-day.

What is the syllabus of SNAP?

The SNAP syllabus holds the key to scoring a respectable percentile in the exam that will get you shortlisted for admission to Symbiosis B-schools. The SNAP syllabus is similar to that of other MBA entrance exams. ‘Current affairs’ is the only additional section that will require additional preparation on your part.

Let’s begin with General English section. The questions in this section will focus on topics such as Reading Comprehension, antonyms, synonyms, parajumbles and sentence completion among others.

In Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation section, you will find questions from topics such as Algebra, Arithmetic, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Permutations & Combinations, and Geometry.

In the third section i.e. Analytical & logical Reasoning, questions from topics such as Assertion and reasons, Venn diagram, Critical reasoning, Visual reasoning, Assumption-Premise-Conclusion, Statements and assumptions will be featured in the exam.

The fourth section i.e. Current Affairs section will test your general aptitude. So, you need to prepare about the recent events in the domain of sports, international events, national events, famous personalities, agreements and deals, economic news.
