Sectional Analysis of SNAP 2016

As per the students’ review, solving 150 questions in 120 minutes was not easy. It was a herculean task and required both speed and wit of an aspirant. In this section we will go through each section and will analyse whether the time spent in each section by the exam takers would lead them to score high percentile.

General English

In this section there were 2 passages of Reading Comprehension of 11 marks. The RCs were easy to solve but were lengthy in nature. Approximately, 10 Fill-in-the-blank (FIB) questions were asked in addition with Vocabulary questions. The vocab-based questions tested synonyms, antonyms, analogies and idioms and phrases of the exam takers. These questions were of 14 marks. There were 3 Para-jumble questions and 2 Critical Reasoning questions. Overall, the difficulty level of this section was easy to moderate.

Quantitative Aptitude

In this section, there were 9 questions on the topic of Arithmetic. Maximum question were asked from Algebra (approximately 12 questions). 7 questions were asked from Geometry and Mensuration topic. A test taker could easily answer at least 22 to 25 questions from this section.

Analytical and Logical Reasoning (LR)

The toughest section of the SNAP Exam was Analytical and Logical Reasoning section. There was a slight change in this section. The number of questions has been increased in this section and instead of 2 marks per questions, each question awarded only 1 mark for the correct answer. This made it difficult for students to score more in this section.

In this section, there were questions on Clocks, Calendars, Blood Relations, Coding-Decoding type among others. Overall the difficulty level of this section was difficult. A good score in this section would be 15+.

General Awareness

The questions asked in this section were from the current affairs and general knowledge areas and SNAP test saw questions only from the past two years. Although many students found this section tricky and difficult to handle but for those who follow news regularly would have surely found this section easy.
