SSC CGL and CHSL 2017 Results

The Supreme Court (SC) of India has put a stay order on declaration of Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) and Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) exam results for year 2017.

The court stay order came up after CBI informed the court about the government officials getting involved in the leakage of the question paper for the online test conducted in February this year. The papers were leaked before the scheduled time of the examination and candidates were found to have used some remote access software for solving the questions with help from outside. As per CBI, some SSC officials were involved in making the leak happen.

The bench said, “Upon perusal of the status reports dated July 25, 2018, and August 30, 2018, filed by the CBI, we find that there is sufficient material on record at this stage to raise a presumption that the CGL examination 2017 and CHSL examination 2017 were tainted. Hence, there shall be an injunction restraining the respondents (SSC) from declaring the results of the aforesaid examinations until further orders”

SSC CGL and SSC CHSL examinations are conducted to fill up staff for government departments and ministries. In year 2017, a total of 15,43,962 candidates appeared in the examination across the country.
