1. AIIMS (UG)

The All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) are a group of autonomous public medical colleges of higher education. Through this examination, admission will be given to the undergraduate medical courses (MBBS). Each year lakhs of students work hard to compete for admission to 50 seats at this premium college. The candidates aiming for AIIMS 2018 must pass the higher secondary examination from a recognized board and secure an aggregate of 60% in subjects like Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and English. The AIIMS application form can be filled online on institute’s official website or collected and submitted in person at the notified center.

  • Mode of exam: Computer based test (online)
  • Number of shifts: 4 shifts for two days – morning and evening

Exam timings

  • Morning shift: 09:00 am to 12:30 pm
  • Evening shift: 03:00 pm to 06:30 pm
  • Medium of exam: English and Hindi
  • Type of questions: Objective Type Questions
  • Number of questions: 200 multiple choice questions + reason assertive
  • Total marks: 200 marks

Marking scheme

  • +1 mark for a correct response
  • -1/3 mark deducted for an incorrect answer

AIIMS MBBS Dates

  • Basic Registration of Application form starts: November 30, 2018

AIIMS eligibility

Before applying for the entrance test, aspirants must go through AIIMS MBBS eligibility criteria to check whether they are eligible or not. Check the basic eligibility criteria which must be fulfilled by aspirants are mentioned below.

  • Age

 Students should have attained or will attain the age of 17 years as on December 31, 2019. Candidates born on or after January 2, 2003, are not eligible to apply.

  • Academic Qualification

Aspirants should have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination from the recognized board from any Indian state with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as the main subject will be eligible.

  • Minimum marks required

 General and OBC applicants must have obtained an aggregate of 60% in English, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. SC and ST candidates must secure at least 50% in total. The OPH candidates must secure at least 45% in Class 12.

2. JIPMER, Puducherry

The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is unique and the oldest Institution in India providing education in European medicine. It is Situated in Puducherry. JIPMER offers courses at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels and admits students only on the basis of its own test and not through AIPMT or any other State Exams. Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry (JIPMER) under Government of India since the year 1956, is one of the leading Medical Institutions in India.

JIPMER, Puducherry conducts JIPMER MBBS in computer based mode with 200 objective type questions (MCQs and reason assertive) asked from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Language & Comprehension and Logical and Quantitative Reasoning. The questions asked in the MBBS exam will be based on the syllabus as prescribed by State and CBSE board of Class 11 and 12. Eligibility
