    India and Saudi Arabia have signed the bilateral annual Haj 2019 agreement at Jeddah. The agreement is a part of strengthened bilateral relations of the two countries. The Indian Government also requested the Saudi Arabian Government to increase India’s annual Haj quota for Haj 2019.

    Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a bill ending the two-decade-old treaty on friendship, cooperation and partnership between Ukraine and Russia. The friendship treaty between Ukraine and Russia was signed in 1997 and brought into effect on April 1, 1999.

  • UK court orders extradition of Vijay Mallya

    The UK court has ordered the extradition of Indian businessman and liquor baron Vijay Mallya from Britain to India to face charges of fraud filed against him. The decision follows a nine-month-long trial on an extradition warrant, which began with Mallya’s arrest in April 2017 and ended in September.

    The move may intensify Qatar’s isolation in its crisis with its Arab neighbors.
