China launches two navigation satellites into space

China successfully launched two BeiDou-3 satellites to provide navigation and positioning services to countries along the Belt and Road initiative (BRI) by the end of 2018. The BDS is being built as rival to US Global Positioning System (GPS). It consists of two separate satellite constellations; a limited test system that has been operating since 2000, and a full-scale global navigation system that is currently under construction. The March-3B carrier rocket took off from Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the south western province of Sichuan.

ISRO launches 31 satellites along with Cartosat-2
