The World Day against Child Labour is being observed across the world today, on June 12, 2019. The theme of the day this year is, 'Children should not work in fields but on dreams'. The World Day against Child Labour was established by the International Labour Organization in 2002 to focus attention on the global extent of child labour and the action and efforts needed to eliminate it.
2. (d) Schedules Tribes
The Union Government has decided to develop Eklavya Model Residential Schools meant for scheduled tribes at par with Navodya Vidyalaya. The initiative is part of the 100 days target of the Ministry towards the welfare of scheduled tribes.
3. (d) RBI
The Reserve Bank of India has constituted a six-member committee to review the entire ATM charges and fees. The committee will review existing patterns of costs, charges and interchange fees for ATM transactions. The committee will submit its report within two months from the date of its first meeting.

Cyclone Vayu is intensifying and advancing closer towards the Gujarat coast. The cyclone is presently, on June 12, 340 kilometres away from Veraval and is expected to hit the coast in the next 24 hours. The landfall is predicted between Porbandar and Mahuva and Veraval and Diu Island.

Thawarchand Gehlot, the Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, has been appointed as the new leader of Rajya Sabha. The position was previously occupied by senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley under the first Narendra Modi-led government.
