Haryana Government on Feb 9 2012, announced it would launch State Urban Health Mission. The urban health mission is aimed at providing a comprehensive health service to the people of the state living in urban areas
The health project will specifically cater to the need of people living in slums who have lesser exposure to better medical facilities available in the state. Under the project the government is planning to set up numerous health centres. The health centres will be established in an area with minimum 1 lakh population. It would carry curative, promotive and preventive health facilities.
The project will be implemented in different phases, first focusing on the urban areas which comprises larger slum population.
