    Ashwin becomes fastest bowler to reach milestone of 300 Test wickets

    Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin became the fastest bowler to reach the milestone of 300 Test wickets on 27 November 2017 thereby, breaking Dennis Lillee's record.

    Ashwin acheieved the feat in his 54th match during India's win over Sri Lanka in the second Test. Australian fast bowling legend Lillee had reached the milestone in 56 Test matches way back in 1981 and it took 36 years for another bowler to surpass the record.

    Ashwin is also ahead of some of the legendary bowlers, who had completed the milestone in quick time. Among them are Muttiah Muralitharan (58 Tests), Richard Hadlee, Malcolm Marshall and Dale Steyn (61 Tests each).

    Raj Shah becomes first Indian-American to hold press gaggle

    Raj Shah, who holds a key position in the White House, became the first Indian-American on 29 November 2017 to hold a press gaggle aboard presidential aircraft Air Force One.

    Gaggle is the term used for informal briefing by the White House Press Secretary, which is on the record but bars reporters from videographing. The 33-year-old Shah did so in the capacity of Principal Deputy Press Secretary, a position to which he was promoted by US President Donald Trump in September as he restructured his press office by making Hope Hicks Director of Communications.

    Shah was accompanying Trump as he flew to Missouri to deliver a major speech on middle-class tax relief and business tax relief.

    Logo and Mascot of Hockey World Cup 2018 unveiled

    The logo and mascot of Hockey World Cup 2018 were unveiled by Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on 29 November 2017.

    The Chief Minister also launched the countdown timer for the international event that is scheduled to be held in the state from 28 November to 16 December 2018.

    The 14th edition of the Hockey World Cup will see participation from as many as 16 countries, including hosts India.
