Canada election: Justin Trudeau’s Liberal party to form minority government
The Canadian Elections 2019 witnessed an extremely close contest between Justin Trudeau’s Liberal party and the main opposition, Conservative Party led by Andrew Scheer. Though the Liberal party has won, it has lost its majority. Justin Trudeau will most likely form a minority government with the help of smaller parties.

The Maharashtra exit poll 2019 predicts a massive win for the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance. The victory is significant as Maharashtra was a bastion of the Congress-NCP earlier. The exit polls predict the BJP to win majority in the state on its own. The NDA alliance is projected to get over 230 seats in the state.
 
Government employees of J&K, Ladakh to get allowances as per 7th Pay Commission
The Union Home Ministry recently approved a proposal to grant all 7th CPC allowances to the government employees of the Union territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The two UTs will come into existence on October 31, 2019.

DAC approves procurement of indigenous equipment worth Rs 3300 crore
The DAC has approved the procurement of indigenously designed and developed equipment worth over Rs 3,300 crore for the Indian armed forces. This would be the first time that the defence ministry is giving the responsibility of designing and manufacturing complex military equipment to the Indian private sector.

NCRB Report: Uttar Pradesh tops the list in crimes against women in country
The National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) has released the figures of crimes against women in India during 2017-18. In total, around 50 lakh criminal cases were recorded during the period, out of which the state of Uttar Pradesh accounts for almost 10.1 percent of the crimes. Maharashtra is second on the list with 31,979 cases of crime against women.
