MAHCET Overview



Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MAH CET) is conducted by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra for admission to various colleges in Maharashtra. MAH CET is an MBA entrance exam that is conducted annually, generally in the month of March. MAH CET exam is conducted in online mode to test the aptitude of MBA aspirants. This entrance exam is conducted in two or more sessions, depending upon the number of applicants. DTE Maharashtra conducts the exam for granting admission to top MBA colleges located in the state of Maharashtra.

MAH CET Eligibility Criteria

Before registering for the entrance exam, it is important for candidates to satisfy the eligibility criteria determined by DTE to undertake the entrance exam. The eligibility criteria of MAH CET 2020 exam slightly differs from other standardized MBA entrance exams. DTE Maharashtra specifies different types of eligibility criteria for Maharashtra state candidates and other for the All India level candidates. Overall a candidate must possess Bachelor’s degree in any discipline to apply for MAH CET Exam.

Some of the basic requirements are as follows;

  • Must be a citizen of India
  • Must possess a graduate degree from a recognized institute
  • Must obtain minimum 50% marks in qualifying examination in case of General category applicants, 45% in case of SC/ST and PwD category applicants on Maharashtra only
  • Candidates in their final year may also apply

MAH CET Application Process

Candidates can register for MAH-CET exam online through the official website i.e. Generally, the MAHCET exam registration process commences in the month of January. Candidates must fill the online application form carefully to ensure that the registration is completed.

Follow the steps to fill the online application form of MAH CET Exam:

Step 1: Visit official website of Directorate of technical education of Maharashtra

Step 2: Click on “Apply Online” button.

Step 3: Fill in personal, qualification and other detail as required in the form.

Step 4: Upload recent passport size photograph and signature.

Step 5: Select test center for examination and click on submit button.

Step 6: After filling the form, pay examination fee through internet banking / Debit Card/ Credit Card.

Application Fee of MAH CET Exam

The application fee for the MAH CET Exam for MBA course for the Open Category Candidates from Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), J & K Migrant candidates, and NRI/foreign nationals/PIO/Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries Candidates is INR 1000/- only. For candidates of backward class and persons with disabilities (Only of Maharashtra) is INR 800/-.

MAH CET Admit Card

MAH CET 2020 Admit Card is released by the DTE Maharashtra or the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra on the official website i.e. MBA aspirants can easily download MAH CET Admit Card by logging onto the official website. Generally the admit card is released in the first week of March. Candidates who have successfully registered for the MAH-CET exam can follow simple steps to download their Admit Card from

Step 1: Visit the official website and find the direct download link on this page

Step 2: Go to the CET option in the navigation bar

Step 3: Click on the link for MAH MBA CET (of the respective year)

Step 4: Click on the MAH MBA CET admit card download link

Step 5: Provide Registration Number/Roll Number, Password/Date of Birth

Step 6: Click on the ‘Login’ button

Step 7: Check the MAH-CET 2020 admit card

Step 8: Download the softcopy of Maharashtra CET 2020 admit card and take 2-3 printouts of the MAH-CET admit card

MAH CET Exam Pattern

MAH CET Exam is conducted to test the general aptitude of MBA aspirants willing to build a career in managerial domain. MAH CET Exam is a multiple choice questions test that carries 5 options for each question. There is no negative marking system in the exam. The duration of MBA entrance exam is 150 minutes and mode of examination will be Online. Overall there are four sections in the exam with total 200 questions in the exam. Candidates will score one mark for each correct answer. While attempting the questions, candidates have an option to switch from one section to another as there is no sectional time limit to attempt the questions.

MAH CET Exam Syllabus

DTE Maharashtra has updated the syllabus of MAH CET exam. Therefore, MAH-CET exam aspirants must go through MAH-CET syllabus in order to prepare for the examination effectively and efficiently.

Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension

Questions in this section test the English language proficiency of the aspirants. Questions from reading comprehension based ability are asked to test the comprehension of the aspirants. Other questions from topics such as grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms, reading comprehension of passages etc are seen in the exam.

Quantitative Aptitude

The questions under this section test how fast and accurate a candidate can work with numbers, do numerical calculations understand various arithmetic problems.

MAH CET Result

MAH-CET Result is generally declared in March end on the official website of the DTE Maharashtra. Exam takers can receive regular updates about the result announcement on the MAH-CET Result page. After DTE Maharashtra announces MAH CET Result, test takers can view & download their score cards by login to the official website of DTE Maharashtra i.e. The percentile/marks will be displayed on the scorecard of MAHCET Result. Once the result is out, candidates can then download MAH-CET scorecard and take a print out of the same for reference purpose. Scorecard is a mandatory document that is required for seeking admission to various colleges that accept MAH CET scores.

MAH CET Exam Cutoff

MAH CET exam cut-off is released after MAH CET result is declared by the exam conducting body. The exam cut-off varies from institute to institute and hence, aspirants can apply to the colleges as per the percentile scored by them in the MAH CET exam.
