List of Captains of One Day Cricket Team of India

There are total of 24 players have captained India ODIs team. The very first ODI captain of Indian cricket team was Ajit Wadekar, who became captain in 1974 and played just 2 matches as captain but unfortunately India lost both of them. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the most successful captain with 110 wins out of 200 games. Mohammad Azharuddin played 174 matches as captain while Saurav Ganguly played 146 matches as captain.

In the above table it can be seen that there are 24 players have been appointed as captain of Indian ODI team till date. Till date Mahendra Singh Dhoni is considered as the most successful Indian captain but Virat Kohli is chasing him with solid record win. Kohli has winning percentage of around 76% which far-far better than any Indian cricket captain ever.
