List of Schemes and Projects of Bihar Government

 

Bihar is the fastest growing state in terms of gross state domestic product (GSDP), clocking a growth rate of 10.3 per cent in 2016-2017. It is as against 7.5 per cent in the corresponding fiscal a year ago, riding largely on the back of the services sector, according to the latest Economic Survey. The growth loses its significance without human development and Bihar provides the best example of growing with inclusive growth. For the human development in Bihar, the state Government emphatically underlined its human development agenda through its seven commitments or Saat Nischay which is given below:

1. Arthik Hal, Yuvaon Ka Bal: For strenthening of the youth economically.

2. Arakshit Rozgar Mahila ka Adhikar: To assured the employment to women as their right.

3. Har Ghar Bijli lagatar: This scheme was launched with an objective to provide free electricity connections to each and every home in the state. The households which do not have an electricity connection till yet will be included under the scheme. The state government aims to provide electricity connections to 50 Lakh households under the Har Ghar Bijli Yojana. About 50% of APL (Above Poverty Line) families in rural Bihar who does not have electricity connections will be covered under the free electricity connection scheme. The BPL families in the state are already being covered under the Central Government’s Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana.

4. Har Ghar Nal Ka Jal: To provide running tap water for every household.

5. Ghar tak Pakki Gali-Naliyan: To construct paved road and rains for every household.

6. Shauchalay Nirman Ghar ka Samman: This scheme was launched with an objective to end the evil practice of outdoor defecation by the year 2019. To achieve the objective, the state government would provide a financial support to each household to build an indoor toilet. The state government under the scheme would also invest a large amount on building community toilets across the state.

7. Awsar Badhe, Aage Padhe: To provide better facilities for higher education.

Schemes and Projects of Bihar Government to achieve Saat Nischay

1. Safe City Surveillance Scheme Launched in Bihar for Women Safety from Crimes

(A) The state govt. is going to install CCTV cameras at various public places.

(B) Under this Safe City Surveillance Scheme, the first district to get covered is Patna. Henceforth, govt. has sanctioned a total sum of Rs. 110.68 crore for its successful implementation.

(C)Subsequently, for better security and administration of prisons, the state govt. will appoint officers at different posts and different ranks.

(D)Government will provide facilities for better traffic management under Nagar Nigams and towns with population of over 2 lakhs. For this reason, govt. will set up 9 Yatayat thanas (traffic police stations) and also appoint 1485 officers for running those thanas.

2. Free Wi-Fi Service under the Wi-Fi Campus Scheme

Under this scheme, Government will provide free Wi-Fi service under the Wi-Fi campus scheme. Under the scheme, around 300 colleges in Bihar have been equipped with free Wi-Fi service. The state government will provide Rs. 23 crore to install solar panels to ensure the Wi-Fi facility functions constantly.

3. Patrakar Samman Yojana – Pension Scheme for Journalist

It was renamed from Bihar journalist pension Scheme by making some amendments in pension rules.

(A)An amount of 5,000 per month would be given to the beneficiary in the form of pension.

(B) A retired journalist having 20 years of minimum experience in Bihar and crossed the age of 60 years would be eligible for the scheme.

4. Housing Scheme for Fourth Grade Government Employees

Under this scheme, Bihar government will develop housing projects especially for fourth-grade government employees and offer them affordable house with all basic residential facilities.

5. Kushal Yuva Program Skill Training Scheme

This Scheme was announced under the “Arthik Hal, Yuvaon Ko Bal” initiative to make the state a better place in terms of educated, skilled and employed youth.

6. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-G) Gramin

Implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) affordable housing scheme in Bihar has started with 4.76 lakh families to be covered by the end of March 31. Under the PMAY scheme, selection of the beneficiaries is being done on the basis of SECC-2011. The gram panchayat has to select and approve the beneficiaries based on the socio-economic census data.

Renamed from Indira Awas Yojana to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin, the ratio of cost to be borne is now 60:40 between central and state governments respectively compared to 75:25 earlier. The state government of BIhar has already allotted Rs. 776 crore for the implementation of the scheme.

7. Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme

Under the scheme, state government is providing education loan of up to Rs. 4 Lakh to 12th Pass students at 0% interest rate.

8. Mukhyamantri Swayam Sahayata Bhatta Yojna

The prime objective of the scheme is to finance the 12th pass unemployed youth during their job search. The assistance amount at the rate of Rs. 1000/month to the eligible candidate for a maximum period of two years.

The progress in human development can only measure by the health, education; living conditions etc. and the epitome of governance can only measure- how various welfare programmes are implemented to every marginalized sections of the population.
