About Institute

Mepco Schlenk Engineering College, Sivakasi was started under the self-financing scheme on October 17, 1984. It is one of the reputed engineering colleges in the country. MEPCO name has been derived from Metal Powder Company, Thirumangalam and Schlenk- a German collaborator of the company. The engineering college is sponsored by the Mepc Schlenk Charities- a social welfare organisation of the Metal Powder Company Ltd. The engineering college was earlier affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai but is currently affiliated to Anna University Chennai from 2001, onwards. The goal of the institution is to take the engineering college to National and International level by developing various PG courses and undertaking research work and raise the academic quality for deemed university status.
