Pondicherry Engineering College(PEC), Puducherry is an engineering institution that is fully funded and promoted by the Government of Puducherry. The college was established in the year 1984 under the Seventh Five Year Plan. It is an autonomous institute for the purposes of administration, staff recruitment and college development of all which is managed by a Board of Governors. It is also autonomous for the undergraduate academic purposes whereas for the postgraduate and Ph.D. academic purposes it is affiliated to the Pondicherry University. The institute was ranked 53 in the engineering college category by the MHRD's NIRF 2018 rankings.
