The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha has decided to cancel the ongoing Class 10th (Matriculation) examination held on Monday in three different centres. The Board stated that the reason for the cancellation is that the examination was held in the most unfair and disruptive manner in these centres. As per the reports, the centres being talked about are located in the districts of Balangir, Dhenkanal and Cuttack in the state of Odisha.

BSE president Jahan Ara Begum informed that as per the preliminary reports submitted by respective district education officers (DEOs) and centre superintendents, the examination committee of the Board has decided to cancel the Monday's paper for all the students who wrote their exam at the 3 aforementioned centres. However, the final call on the issue will be taken after all the examinations are over on March 8.

As per the reports, the students resorted to mass copying at these centres. Also, teachers and guardians gathered around the centre and forcefully entered the examination hall and provided and helped the students with books and chits to write the answers.  The policemen deployed at the centre were outnumbered by the intruders. The Board also stated that further examination at this centre will be held as per schedule with adequate police arrangements and promulgating prohibitory measures under Section 144 of CrPC.
