Bihar Board Exam 2022 Update

Bihar Board Exam 2022 Update: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is expected to change the design of the question papers for the upcoming BSEB Matric and Intermediate Exam 2022 as per local media reports. Sources close to the Board have hinted that the Bihar Board is planning to alter the design of the question papers for the upcoming BSEB 10th and 12th Board Exam 2022 to be able to test both a candidate's knowledge base and his or her intellectual capacity. Along with the, the sources have also confirmed that the Bihar 10th and 12th Exam 2022 will be held in February and the complete date sheet will be released soon by the exam authority at biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in.

High Level Meeting Between BSEB, Education Ministry

As per the information shared by sources, the top officials from Board held a high-level meeting with officials from the Education Ministry. The key agenda of the meeting was to fine tune the plan for the upcoming board exams while streamlining the approach to the testing methodology. It was during this meeting that BSEB officials had revealed that they plan  to introduce some key changes to the design of the question paper to better assess the capabilities of the students.

Theory to MCQ-Based Question Papers

Although no formal communication regarding this has been made by the BSEB, sources have further hinted that the board might shift the question paper design from theory-based question paper to MCQ or multiple choice questions. The change is being introduced to streamline the assessment model to test both candidate’s knowledge base and intellectual capacity. If implemented, for BSEB Matric and Inter Exam 2022, candidates will be required to mark correct answer in the OMR sheet by filling in the appropriate circles. This will turn-out to be the biggest and one of the most important changes that the board has implemented for Class 10 and 12 exams.

Topics from NCERT in Exam

Another important change that students should look forward to in this year’s exam would be introduction of question from topics based on NCERT Textbooks. Until now, BSEB 10th and 12th Board Exams 2021 were based on dedicated syllabus that was curated by the state board; however, from this year onwards, students will have to study the NCERT syllabus of Class 10 and 12 to prepare for their final exams.

No Weightage to Attendance

Another important change that students should foresee with regards to the BSEB Board Exam 2022 is regarding the attendance. Until now, the Bihar Board had accorded certain weightage to attendance as eligibility criteria to register for the Bihar Board Exam 2022 and only those candidates who had 50-70% attendance were allowed to register for the exams. However, from this year onwards, as schools have shifted to hybrid model of teaching, this rule has been done away with.

With the high-level meeting already completed between the BSEB and Education Ministry, now a final and formal announcement regarding these changes is expected soon. However, until then, students should continue their preparations for the Bihar 10th and 12th Exam 2022 based on the current exam pattern.
