CBSE Board Exam 2020 Highlights: Revised Exam Notification Released, Results to be out by 15th July

CBSE Board Exam 2020 Latest Updates: CBSE Board expected to issue a revised draft notification providing much clarity about the internal assessment marking scheme, tentative result date and other details about the cancelled CBSE 10th and 12th Exams 2020 today. Yesterday, CBSE Board filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court confirming that cancellation of the pending Board exams which were scheduled to be held from 1st July 2020. Along with cancellation of exams, the board also introduced a new evaluation scheme based on internal assessment, which will be followed to mark students for the final exams. While, the key take away from yesterday’s hearing was the cancellation of CBSE 10th and 12th Exams 2020 but clarity about other important aspects such as internal assessment marking scheme, tentative result date and other details are likely to be released today.

    CBSE Board today filed the revised notification confirming the details about the new internal assessment scheme that will be followed by it for declaration of the results.

    Option to sit for exam only for 12th Class Students

    Another important aspect that was clarified by CBSE Board in the court yesterday was about holding exams for Class 12 students later on, when the situation is more conducive. However, this option to sit for re-examination, if you are not satisfied with your current score shared on the basis of internal assessment is only available to Class 12 students. For class 10 students, the results announced on the basis of internal assessment will be final.

    Clarity About Internal Assessment Method

    The draft notification to be submitted in the Supreme Court today will outline the assessment scheme for Class 10 and Class 12 students. As per media reports, the key highlights of the new assessment scheme are as follows:

    • For students, who have completed all their exams / papers, their assessment will be done on basis of their performance in these papers and results will be declared in accordance with it.
    • For students, who have appeared in more than three papers, the average of the marks obtained in the best three performing subjects will be awarded as the score for the pending papers
    • For students, who have appeared in only three papers, the average score of best two papers will be awarded as marks in the pending papers
    • For students, who have appeared for only 1 paper, their results will be based upon internal/practical/project assessment.

    CBSE To File Revised Draft Exam Notification in SC Today

    As directed by the apex court, CBSE board is expected to file a revised draft notification for the examination today in the Supreme Court. The draft notification is expected to shed light on important aspects of the cancelled board exams, which were left unanswered yesterday.
