CBSE Board Exam 2021 Cancelled Live Updates: Following the meeting with PM Modi, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has confirmed that the CBSE Board Exam 2021 for Class 10 students has been cancelled for this year. He also added that CBSE 12th Exam 2021 will be postponed and will be held after review in June. The announcement has been made soon after a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Officials from the ministry to discuss the matter about upcoming CBSE Board Exam 2021 postponement.
Earlier in the month, CBSE had reiterated its stand on holding the exam saying that the board will take all the necessary precautions to conduct these exams safely and there is no announcement of postponement. But following growing chorus for cancellation of Board Exam from students and the worsening situation due to the pandemic, the board has been forced to rethink and cancel the exam for Class 10 students and postpone Class 12 Exams.

While welcoming the decision for cancellation of CBSE 10th Exam 2021, the Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has urged the central government to promote Class 12 students on the basis of internal assessment.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who earlier had voiced his support for cancellation of CBSE Board Exam 2021 has welcomed the decision announced by the Education Minister Today. In a tweet sent out from this official account, Mr Kejriwal noted that “I am glad that the exams have been cancelled/postponed. This is a great relief for lakhs of students and their parents.”
Following the formal announcement by the Education Minister, CBSE has now released the detailed notification confirming the cancellation of Class 10 Exams and Postponement of Exams for Class 12 students.
Along with confirming that the Class 10 Exam for CBSE Board have been cancelled for this year, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal also said that for those students who are not satisfied with the marks allotted to them on the basis of Objective Criterion, a second optional exam would be held later on. The special exam would be held as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams.
Citing the primary reason because of which the CBSE 10th Exam 2021 were cancelled, officials from education ministry noted that it is important to hold the exams simultaneously for all the students. however, as schools have been closed in over 11 states due to the COVID-19 second wave, the exams have been cancelled.
Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, took to twitter to confirm further developments about cancellation of CBSE 10th Exam 2021. Address a query about assessment of students, the minister said that "The results of Class 10 Board will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board. Any candidate who is not satisfied with the marks allocated to him/her on this basis will be given an opportunity to sit in an exam as and when the conditions are conducive to hold the exams."
According to the details shared by Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, exam for Class 12 students has been postponed and not cancelled. The Minister also said that the exam have been postponed until 1st June after which the Board will hold a review meeting and details about holding the exams thereafter would be shared subsequently. As per the earlier schedule, Class 12 Board Exams were scheduled to be held from 4th May to 14th June 2021.
Amid rising concerns among the students and parents, Prime Minister Narendra Modi organized a high-level review meeting with Education Minister and Officials from Ministry and the Board. During the meeting, PM Modi discussed the options available before the government as far as safe conduct of examination is concerned. Following the meeting, the Central government has decided to cancel the CBSE 10th Exam 2021 while postponing the Class 12 Exams until a future date.REGISTER FOR RESULTS UPDATES
