Due to the special circumstances, the board this year has allowed the schools to complete the practical examinations by the last date of the theory exam - June 11, 2021.
The official notification containing the CBSE practical examination schedule and the instructions and guidelines are available on the official website - cbse.gov.in. Candidates can also check the official notification of CBSE through the direct link available here.
According to the guidelines issued the CBSE class 10 and 12 practical examinations can be conducted by the CBSE schools between March 1 and June 11, 2021. Unlike the previous years, the board this year has allowed the schools to re-conduct the practical examinations for the students who are absent when the school first conducts the examination.
In the case of absentees, the schools have also been asked to report to the Boards Regional office so that the external examiner may be appointed again for the practical exams. The practical exams must however be completed before June 11, 2021.
External examinations are mandatory for the class 12 practical examinations and just like the previous years the practical exams this year as well will be conducted by an external examiner along with a board-appointed observer and an internal examiner.
Schools have also been warned against conducting the practical exams with an internal examiner and in case of it the marks for the practical exams will be cancelled and the students will instead be marked on an average scale of the marks obtained in the theory exams. A de-affiliation process will also be initiated against such schools.
The internal assessments for the Class 10 students will be conducted by internal examinations and done in the previous years. The marks obtained in the practical exams conducted are to be immediately uploaded to the app by the schools.
Schools have also been asked to upload a group photo with geo-tags as was per the rules issued by the board last year. The marks of the students including those absent for the exams are to be uploaded between March 1, 2021, and June 11, 2021.
The practical labs are to be sanitized with 1% Sodium Hypochlorite after conducting the exams for each batch. Schools are also supposed to provide hand sanitizers at the labs for the students.
The students appearing for the exams must be educated about the safety protocols and also advised to carry their own sanitizers along with wearing face masks at all times and carrying their own water bottle.
A batch of 25 students will be subdivided into two sub-groups in order to ensure social distancing. The schools have also been directed to switch on exhaust fans while the doors and windows of the labs are to be kept open during the entire duration of the examination.
During the Viva Voice, the students and examiners are to face the same direction and not each other. Students are also required to wash their hands before and after the exams. The students are also advised to leave the school premises immediately after the practical exams are conducted.REGISTER FOR RESULTS UPDATES
