The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination will introduce project work for the class 12 mathematics and English subjects in the ISC board examinations for the 2020-21 academic year instead of the 2021-22 academic year.
The CISCE had earlier introduced a 20 mark project work for the Mathematics and English subjects from the 2022 examinations but now the council has decided to introduce the project work from the 201 academic years onwards.

According to the notification released, the students appearing for the ISC Examinations next year will have to prepare the projects for the English and Mathematics papers for 20 marks. The theory papers on the other hand for each of the subjects will be conducted for 80 marks.
The list of the different topics for the projects from which the candidates can choose has been sent to the respective school principals.

The Writing Skills for English Paper 1 will be for 5 marks which will be allotted for internal and external assessment.
The ISC English Paper 2 will have examinees analyze the theme of any story or people from the prescribed tests, a character from a play, short stories, or poems from the prescribed texts. Students can also summarise or paraphrase a short story or poem or any other alternative outcomes to any of the chosen text or draw a comparison of two characters from two different texts.
With respect to the Mathematics Paper 2 project work, it will be for a total of 20 marks where candidates will be expected to complete two projects from any topics covered in the theory section.
